Objective To study(1,3)-β-D-glucan on the diagnosis of invasive fungal infection. Methods Ninety four patients suffered from invasive fungal infection in the Hospital were divided into three groups according to the latest diagnostic guideline of invasive fungal infection. in our country.Plasma level of(1,3)-β-D-glucan in three groups were determined and compared to normal control group including twenty person. Results Patients diagnosed as invasive fungal infection showed a higher plasma level of(1, 3)-β-D-glucan than that of control group,when(1,3)-β-D-glucan level was applied to diagnose invasive fungal infection. The sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values for(1,3)-β-D-glucan were 86.0%,81.9%,84.3%,83.7%and84.0%.Conclusion Level of(1,3)-β-D-glucan could be used for diagnosis ofinvasive fungal infection.Optimal cut-offvalue of plasma(1,3)-β-D-glucan with MB-80 Test System for diagnosis of invasive fungal infection in this experiment should be 14.8pg/ml which exhibited fine consistency.
