Evaluate The Relationship Between Carotid Atherosclerosis And Coronary Heart Disease With Ultrasound And Angiography

Objective To study the relationship between carotid atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.Methods 101 patients who were suspected coronary heart disease from September 2005 to September 2006 in the center hospital of Shengli Oil-field.the average age was 51.6±8.5.The IMT and plaques of common carotid arteries were measured in all of patients with carotid artery ultrasound.According to the results of carotid artery ultrasound, all the patients were divided into three groups.Meanwhile,all the patients were examined by intravascular ultrasound.72 patients were regarded as CHD group(n=72),29 patients were selected as NCHD(n=29).According to the number of coronary artery sten osis,The CHD group were divided into three groups.To investigate the coincidence of IMT and plaques with CHD and carotid atherosclerosis.The relationship of IMT and plaques and the severe degree of CHD also be studied including carotid artery plaque. Results(1) the coincidence rate of carotid artery plaque was 33.3%in predictive carotid artery atherosclerosis.the coincidence rate of carotid artery plaque was 33.3%in predictive CHD.the coincidence rate of IMT was 48.6%in predictive CHD.(2) the accuracy was 78.8%in predictive carotid artery atherosclerosis by carotid artery ultrasound. (3) the predictive value of I MT≥1.0mm and artery plaque was 81.9%in predicting CHD.Coclusions(1)carotid atherosclerosis is close related to coronary heart disease. the quantities of carotid artery plaque can be used to adjust CHD and its severity.But carotid artery plaque is not related to property and decentration of carotid artery plaque.(2) carotid stenosis can be used to adjust CHD and its severity.
