Objective:To investigate the association between the polymorphism of urotensinâ…¡gene and MS(metabolic syndrome) in han population of Guang xi zhuang autonomous region and its effect to BP,FBS,PBS2h,TCH,TG,HDL,LDL,UA and HOMA-IR.Method:We study SNPs in the urotensinâ…¡gene in 63 subjects with MS from Guang xi who meet the criteria of IDF,44 subjects with MS who meet the criteria of CDS,and 69 subjects in control cohort.(1) To detect the fasting insulin in both experimental groups with method of radioimmunoassay.(2) PCR-RFLP(restrict enzyme fragment length polymorphism)was used to detect the SNPs.Result:(1)According to IDF criteria of MS,the difference of genotype frequency between MS group and control cohort is statistically significant(P=0.039).(2)According to IDF criteria of MS,the difference of allele frequency between MS group and control chort is statistically significant(P=0.01).(3)According to IDF criteria of MS,the difference of FINS(P=0.03)and HOMA-IR(P=0.03)among three different genotypes are statistically significant.(4)According to CDS criteria of MS,the difference of genotype frequency between MS group and control chort is statistically unsignificant(P=0.14).(5)According to CDS criteria of MS,the difference of allele frequency between MS group and control chort is statistically significant(P=0.035).(6)According to CDS criteria of MS,the difference of HOMA-IR among three different genotypes is statistically significant(P=0.049). Conclusion:(1)The S89N allele polymorphism in the urotensinâ…¡gene may be associated with MS in ban population of Guang xi zhuang autonomous region.(2)The S89N allele polymorphism in the urotensinâ…¡gene may be associated with IR in han population of Guang xi zhuang autonomous region.
