Objective To investigate the variation of the left ventricular systolic function before and after operation in patients with Atriel Septal Defect(ASD) by Real-Time Three-Dimensional Echocardiography(RT-3DE),and preliminary assessment the short period effect of the left ventricular systolic function with different operation methodsMethods Fifty-nine patients were divided into surgery group and cardiac implant closure group according to different operation methods,thirty-three normal persons were the control group.Left ventricular full volume imaging was acquired by RT-3DE.Left ventricular end diastolic volume(LVEDV) and left ventricular end systolic volume(LVESV) were analyzed by the analysis software of RT-3DE;and left ventricular stroke volume(LVSV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) was calculated.LVEDV,LVESV,LVSV,LVEF of pre-operation were compared with those of post-operation,and both were compared with those of the con group.Result(1)The left ventricular systolic function of the ASD group was compared with the con group,LVEDV,LVSV and LVEF of the ASD group were lower than those of the con group, while LVESV was no significant difference.(2)The left ventricular systolic function of pre-operation was compared with those of post-operation,after 3 days of operation in the cardiac implant closure group, and after 1 weeks of operation in the surgery group,LVEDV,LVSV and LVEF were increased in both group(P< 0.01),LVESV was decreased(P<0.01 in cardiac implant closure group,P<0.05 in surgery group).(3)The left ventricular systolic function of the ASD group after operation was compared with the con group,LVEDV,LVESV,LVSV and LVEF had no significant difference between the cardiac implant closure group and the con group(P>0.05);while those were lower in surgery group(P<0.05).Conclusion RT-3DE can evaluate the left ventricular systolic function in patients with ASD exactly and conveniently. The left ventricular systolic function in ASD group were lower than those of the con group, and after operation the cardiac implant closure group's had no significant difference with the con group, the surgery group's had become better but lower than the con group yet.
