Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst, the dry root of Arnebia euchroma, which is Traditional Chinese Medicine, is listed in the 2005 Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The dry rhizomes were chopped and extracted with 95%and 70% EtOH for 3 times. The EtOH extract was isolated by chromatography on silica gel using a gradient solvent system (PE:EtOAc& CH2C12:MeOH)and Sephadex LH-20.The chemical structures of the components were elucidated by the nuclear magnetic resonance and MS spectral analysis..From this plant, 13 compounds(AE1~AE13)compounds have been obtained, including two new compounds, one new natural product. Also the components were separated and identified from the petroleum ether extraction of Arnebia euchroma ETOH extracs by GC-MS and elucidated by the comparison with the standard mass spectral data.14 compounds were identified. The main components are fatty acids and fatty acid lactones. Fatty acids were isolated from Arnebia euchroma for the first time and fatty acid lactones have been firstly isolated from Boraginaceae plants.
