Background: Colorectal cancer is prone to have liver metastases, which is an important factor for bad prognosis. The surgery of liver metastases has a certain impact on the survival rate in colorectal cancer with liver metastases, but other related prognostic factors are not clear. Objective:To analyze the survival condition and prognostic factors of colorectal cancer with liver metastases. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the survival rate by using Kaplan-Meier and found prognostic related factors of 119 patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer using the multivariate COX analysis. Results: One hundred and twelve patients had intact follow-up data. The median survival time of one hundred and twelve patients was 18.25 months. One-year over survival rate was 60.8%,two-year over survival rate was 35%,three-year over survival rate was 20.3%, five-year over survival rate was 4.8%. Univariate analysis found that sex, age, primary tumor location, chemotherapy, pathological types had no relation with the over survival rate. But the resection of primary tumor ,the time of liver metastases ,the general type, the resection of liver metastases and clinical stage were all independently related with the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients with liver metastases. COX regression analysis demonstrated that clinical stage, resection of liver metastases and general type of tumor were the key factors affecting the prognosis of the colorectal cancer patients with liver metastases .Conclusion: The patients with high risk should have strict follow-up so that they can have early diagnosis and early treatment. The survial time of colorectal cancer patients with liver metastases could be elongated by resecting primary tumors and liver metastases.
