Objective: In order to investigate a novel Chinese Traditional Medicine(TCM) intervention treatment for Chronic Heart Failure(CHF) patients, we detect the plasma level of B type natriuretic peptide(BNP) and another clinical features influenced by the effect of 'Warming yang and benefiting qi,Promoting blood circulation and inducing diuresis' on patients with CHF disease, which is supposed to supply more scientific evidence for TCM Syndrome Differentiation theory.Mothod: 58 qualified standand CHF patients are randomly devided into TCM and regular medicine combinational treatment group(30 cases) and regular medicine treatment group(28 cases) as the control. The control group is involved in the regular medicine treatment described as the combinational treatment of furosemide, Perindopril tablets and Metoprolol Tartrate sustaind-release tablets as well as the additional dose of digoxigenin for patients with contraction of heart failure symptoms. As to TCM combined regular medicine group is given treatment of 'Warming yang and benefiting qi,Promoting blood circulation and inducing diuresis' plus the regular medicine therapy. After one month treatment, the New York Heart Association (NYHA) cardiac function grading, efficacy of TCM Hou, plasma level of BNP, heart features using color indicators and 6-minute walk test (6-MWT) changes are detected. Based on verification of the drug adverse reactions of treatments, the efficiency, tolerance and security of treatments are investigated.Result: After one month treatments, for TCM combined regular medicine group the changes of efficacy of TCM Hou, NYHA cardiac function grading, plasma BNP level, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and 6-MWT all have significant differences(P<0.05) compared with control group. Between the TCM various cards blood plasma BNP density has the remarkable difference(P<0.05), with increase of TCM card order, the plasma BNP level obviously increased(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1. TCM and regular medicine combinational treatment for CHF patients indeed can improve the efficacy of therapy, it can release a variety of chronic cardiac insufficiency clinical symptoms, efficiently improve cardiac function NYHA classification ability, LVEF and 6-MWT, thereby improve the capacity of cardiac blood storage function of patients and their lives' qualities; 2. TCM and regular medicine combinational treatment for CHF patients can significantly reduce the level of plasma BNP; 3. BNP levels changes are significantly associated with TCM Syndrome aggressivenesses; 4. This study supplied to more scientific evidences for TCM treatment for CHF patients, giving more promising view of this therapy.
