Objective:To investigate the relationship between the proteinum expression of MDM2 and P16 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), and their relationship with clinic pathological feature. Methods:The expression of MDM2 and P16 were detected by S-P immunohistochemical method with mouse monoclonal anti MDM2 antibody and anti P16 antibody in 35 LSCC specimens, 21 specimens of precancercerpous larynx, 20 normal laryngeal specimens.Results:1. There is no expression of MDM2 in normal laryngeal specimens, but the expression of MDM2 positive rates were 38.1%( 8/21) and 54.3% (19/35). There were significant difference between LC specimens and specimens of precancercerpous larynx, P <0. 05.2. Expression of P16 positive in normal laryngeal specimens, precancercerpous larynx and LSCC specimens were 85.1%,52.4%,34.3%, and there were significant difference among them.3. Expression of MDM2 positive inⅠ一Ⅲpathological grade laryngeal carcinoma were 38.1% (8/21) ,66.7% (6/9) ,100% (5/5) and the positive rates were correlation with the pathological grade.4. Expression of P16 positive inⅠ一Ⅲpathological grade LSCC were 52.4%,11.1%,0% and the positive rates had negative correlation with the pathological grade.Conclusion:1. Expression of MDM2 positive were higher with lower differen- tiation, so it's maybe helpful to diagnose LSCC.2. Expression of P16 positive were lower with lower differentiation, and there's no expression inⅢpathological grade LSCC, so it has positive effects on malignancy determination.3. Abnormal expression of MDM2 and P16 had different effects on LSCC development. Expression of MDM2 and P16 had negative correlation in LSCC.
