Objective:To probe the correlaion between endothelium-dependent dilation of brachial artery(EDD),intima-media thickness of carotid(IMT) and ankle-brachial index (ABI)and the change of hemodynamic of carotid artery in patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods: 31 cases of healthy volunteers as control groups,62 cases of diabets were devided into two groups by diabets course:diabets course <5 years as group A and diabets course >10 years as group B.In all subjects ,the EDD of brachial arteries, the IMT and hemodynamic of carotid arteries were measured with high resolution ultrasound, and the ABI was measured with sphygmomanometer. Results:The EDD in A group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.01) ,and no significant difference were found in IMT,ABI and hemodynamic between A group and control group.Compared the B group with the A group and control group , EDD,ABI,PSV and EDVwere significantly decreased (P<0.01);S/D was increased(P<0.05); IMT,AT,PI and RI were significantly increased (P<0.01); EDD showed a significant negative correlation with IMT( r =-0.575,P <0.01),IMT showed a negative correlation with ABI(r=-0.521,P<0.01),EDD showed a significant positive correlation with ABI (r=0.492,P<0.01).Conclusions:The injure of EDD in T2DM was earlier than the change of IMT and ABI;The injure of EDD accelerated the proceed of antheroscl- erosis, caused the increase of IMT,the decrease of ABI and the change of hemodynamic.
