Study On Expression And Relationship Of STAT3 And Survivin Protein In The Human Brain Astrocytomas

Objective:To explore the expression and significance of STAT3 and Survivin protein in the human astrocytomas.Methods:Expression level of STAT3,phosphorylated STAT3(P-STAT3) and Survivin protein was investigated by immunohistochemistry Enivision method in 53 cases of the human astrocytomas .Results:The positive rate of STAT3,P-STAT3 and Survivin protein in the human astrocytomas tissue were significantly higher than those in the normal brain tissue(P <0.01 respectively).We also inverstigated that the expression of STAT3,P-STAT3 and Survivin protein were correlated with the histological grade,and had no correlation with sex,age and place.There were a positive correlation between the positive expression rate of STAT3,P-STAT3 and Survivin protein in the human astrocytomas tissue(rs= 0.431,P<0.01;rs=0.416,P<0.01)Conclusion:The detection of STAT3,P-STAT3 and Survivin expression could be a good factor for monitoring the severity and prognosis of the human astrocytomas . Protein of STAT3,P-STAT3 and Survivin may play an important role in tumorigenesis and progression of the human astrocytomas.
