We have the second largest population of diabetes in the world, and the prevalence is still rising rapidly. It's complications, which can lead to disability or death, can bring a bad influence on the mind and health of patients, and has brought about a lot of burden to their family and society.Mass media, with a function of agent-setting, has palyed a important pole on the cognitive and behavior change for diabetic patients.With a theoretical background of Health Communication, this paper selected three popular journals on diabetes, and China's four major and renowned newspapers as research targets and tries to figure out the journals and newspapers news coverage on diabetes patient. The difference between the medium, and the change between the years have also been investigated. Meantime, the information demand of diabetic patients will be investigated to find out the deviation between the media-agent and audience-agent. The paper studied news resources and way of reporting diabetes by adopting content analysis.The research shows that there is some deviation between the media-agent and custom-agent. Conflict is exsited between health communication and media. At the end of the paper, several advices are introducted to improve the report.
