| Guided by the Basic theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM),reviewing of the literature of modern medicine and TCM about the treatment of acne baced on the theories about acne in TCM and modern medicine ,combing with instructor's viewpoint, this article explores on the pathogenic mechanism and the therapeutic method of acne through theory and experimental study. The author regards that hot inner were the pathogenic fundamental of acne ;heat and toxin upward to the face were the pathogenic key of acne and heat ,toxin bring on blood stagnation , which were the focus pathogenic of acne .therefore ,remove heat and clear toxin and active blood circulation was one of the important treatment methods of acne.Complex prescription of remove heat and clear toxin and active Blood circulation ,which is prepared according to the treatment principal ,consists of flos lonicerae japonicae,radix et rhizom salviae miltiorhizae,herbataraxaci,hedyotis diffusa,fructus crataegi etc. Using morden scientific research, the paper discussed the mechanism of the aprescription .Animal experiment revealed that the prescription has a good effect in rabbit ear model. That can significantly reduce the size of hair follicles and sebaceous glands in diameter, reducing the expression of Substance P, reduce blood viscosity and its mechanism may be related to the inhibitory anti-inflammatory compound, regulating immunity, reduce the local inflammatory response; Regulation of the endocrine and suppress sebaceous gland secretion; promoting blood circulation and reduce blood viscosity, improve local micro-circulation related .Therefore the therapeutic method of remove heat ,clear toxin and active Blood circulation has certain scientific evidences and is worth being studied further.
