The Short-term Efficacy And Safety Of Statins On Treating The Aged Coronary Heart Disease Patients With Diabetes Mellitus

Objectives The efficacy and safety of statins have became hot spot.To evaluate the short-term efficacy and safety of statins on treating the aged coronary heart disease patients with diabetes mellitus.Methods This randomized single-blind parallel controlled study was conducted in 116 aged coronary heart disease patients with diabetes mellitus and 20 healthy persons.116 patients were randomized to receive routine treatment,rosuvastatin 10mg/d,atorvastatin 10mg/d or 20mg/d for two weeks.Then the level of fasting plasma hs-CRP,APN,GMP-140,VWF,TCH,TG,LDL-C,HDL-C,ALT,AST,CR and CPK were detected before and after treatment in treatment groups.The level of fasting plasma hs-CRP,APN,GMP-140,VWF,TCH,TG,LDL-C,HDL-C were detected in healthy group.Moreover,the adverse reactions in statins treatment group were observed.Results1.The lipids level before treatment didn't significantly changed in statin treatment group(P>0.05).But the TC,TG,LDL-C level in healthy group lower than in statin treatment group,the HDL-C level in healthy group higher than in statin treatment group(P<0.05).2.The LDL-C level decreased significantly in statin treatment group(P<0.05).The difference of LDL-C level before and after treatment was similar in rosuvastatin group and 20mg atorvastatin group(P>0.05),but these were larger than in 10mg atorvastatin group(P<0.05).3.The hs-CRP level decreased significantly and the APN level didn't changed in 10mg atorvastatin group.The APN and hs-CRP level changed in rosuvastatin group and 20mg atorvastatin group.Furthermore,the efficacy of rosuvastatin was better than 20mg atorvastatin(P<0.05).4. The vWF and GMP-140 level decreased significantly after treatment in statins groups.Moreover,the vWF and GMP-140 level in rosuvastatin group decreased more significantly than them in atorvastatin group.5.In statins treatment group,the hepatorenal function and CPK level didn`t significantly changed(P>0.10).Conclusions The efficacy of rosuvastatin in lipid-lowering and non-lipid-lowering is more effective than 20mg atorvastatin.However,the safety data is similar between them in the period of 2-week follow-up.
