Objective: To discuss the clinical situation, dignosis , endovascular treatment and factors affecting the prognosis of traumatic carotid-cavernous fistula(TCCF).Methods: 2 cases of TCCF were reviewed, digital subtraction angio- graphy(DSA) of cerebral arteries was carried out for diagnosis of all 2 cases. And the clinical situation, dianosis, endovascular treatment of TCCF were studied. Results: The 2 TCCF patients were old age-female.The clinical symp- toms are pulsatile intracranial bruit, pulsating exophthalmos and congested and edema conjunctiva, which usually appeared 2 or 3 months after the tra- uma.2 cases were diagnosesd by DSA,and all of them were treated with detachable balloon. The clinical symptoms and signs of TCCF were obvious- ly improved after treatment.6 months later, the symptoms and signs dis- appeared by phone-follow up.Conclusions: The intracranial bruit should be asked and auscultated in order to diagnose the disease timely. Clinical diagnosis can be established with the typical symptoms and one or more imaging examinations. Now, DSA is called the gold standard for TCCF. Endovascular treatment is considered the most ideal approach with the advantage that other treatments can not substitute.
