Objective To Conclude Traumatic carotid artery-cavernous fistula using detachable balloon endovascular embolization experience.Methods37cases of neurosurgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were treated between February2005to July2011using the femoral artery approach with detachable balloon endovascular embolization of traumatic carotid cavernous fistula (TCCF) patientsthe clinical data were retrospectively analyzed.Results37cases of patients with TCCF have been Conducted a total of39endovascular embolization.30patients in the successful occlusion of the fistula at the same time maintaining the patency of the internal carotid artery.29patients embolizated successfully on the first time and1patient embolizated successfully on the second time. Seven cases were shut up for fistula occlusion of the internal carotid artery. The patency rate of the internal Carotid artery was81%.2cases of patients appeared normal perfusion pressure breakthrough after endovascular embolization. In addition to the three cases of patients after severe trauma suffering from eye blind not to restore the outside, the rest of the clinical symptoms were different degrees of mitigation. Conclusion Detachable balloon endovascular embolization of traumatic carotid artery-cavernous fistula (TCCF) damage is small, safe and reliable, can be used as the preferred method of treatment of Traumatic carotid artery-cavernous fistula (TCCF).To Strive to achieve anatomical cure, not easily at the expense of the internal carotid artery.
