| Object: To investigate the safely and effective of the multifocal apodized diffractive IOL(AcrySof ReSTOR Multifocal IOL,ReSTOR), compared with monofocal aspheric IOL(AcrySof Aspheric Natural IQ,IQ), and to compare the visual outcome and subjective visual symptoms in patients who had implantation of the ReSTOR with those in patients who received the IQ in cataract surgery.Methods:43 patients(62 eyes) were treated with phacoemulsification through clear corneal insicion combining ReSTOR intraocular lens impla- ntation. The distance and near visual acuities, pseudo accommodation were compared, and patient satisfaction with their vision, subjective visual symptoms, and spectacle dependence was assessed by using a standardized questionnaire. All parameters were evaluated 3 months after surgery. And all parameters were compared 1week,1month and 3maonths after operation.Result:At 3 months postoperatively,in ReSTOR group:UCDVA, subjective perception ,of two groups were compared. There were no significant differences between the groups in 3 months of postoperative. The patient who implant ReSTOR can attain more better UCNVA ,spectacle independence, depth of focus , the pseudoaccommodation ,and the functional visual than group of IQ. The ReSTOR group had significantly better near uncorrected acity.Contrast ensitivity was similar between the groups. Reading glasses were not required by 86.05% in the ReSTOR group and by 20.45% in the IQ group. Satisfactory uncorrected intermediate distance vision was achieved in 83.72% of eyes in the ReSTOR group and 88.64% in the IQ group. Conclusion: The AcrySof ReSTOR IOL with its apodized diffractive optic provides patients with excellent near visual acuity without compromising distancevision ,signify-cantly reducing of severe visual disturbances comp- ared with monofocal controls. ReSTOR for the pationet with cataract is safe and effective, and can provide the more better functional visual. |
