Rhododendron anthopogon D.Don is the plant of the genus Rhododendron of the Ericaceae family and is one of the original plants of TaLeGaBao.Rhododendron anthopogon D.Don is mainly distributed in southern Tibet in China. Rhododendron anthopogon D.Don is not only highly ornamental flower,and its ingredients contain heat-clearing and detoxicating,relieving cough and asthma, eliminating phlegm,diminishing inflammation and analgesia,decreasing blood pressure,invigorating stomach and detumescence,improving the health and other physical effects.The volatile oil of flowers of Rhododendron anthopogon D.Don was extracted by means of water steam distillation,and the chemical constituents were analyzed by GC-MS.Fifty compounds of the volatile oil of the flowers have been identified separately.The main constituents are N-acetyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-isoquinoline(29.23%),2-ethoxy-propane(12.47%),3-methyl-6-tertbu-tylphenol (10.83%),3-methyl-5-phenyl-isothiazole(6.38%),Diphenyla-mine (4.20%),N-ethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-naphthalenamine(3.62%),Pentacosane(3.12 %) and Tricosane(3.06%).Seventeen compounds were isolated from the flowers of Rhododendronanthopogon D.Don by silica gel column chromatography and prep-TLC.Sixteen of them were identified by NMR.They were trilinolein(1),3-hydroxy-3-phenyl-phenyl-propanamide(2),methyloleanolate(3),ursolicacid(4),2-hydroxy-4-methoxyl-phenol(5),5-methoxyfurfural(6),1-methyl-[4-hydroxy-phenyl]-azi-ridinium chloride(7),7-hydroxy-coumarin(8),23-hydroxy-ursolicacid(9),β-sit-osterol (10),quercetin(11),myricetin(12),3-hydroxy-4-methoxyl-phenol(13),anancubin (14),myricetin-3'-O-β-D-xyloside(15),hyperin(16).3-hydroxy-3-phenyl -propanamide(2),5-methoxyf-urfural(6),1-methyl-[4-hydroxy-phenyl]-aziridinium chloride(7),aucubin(14) were isolated from the plant first time.
