Objective:To investigate the levels of interleukin-10(IL-10) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in expressed prostatic fluids(EPS) of patients with chronic prostatitis /chronic pelvic painsyndrome (CP/CPPS),and evaluate the significance of interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-αto CP/CPPS.Methods:To collect 32 patients with full history and record of diagnosis and treatment, and with the syndromes referred in NIH-CPSI,belonging to the typeⅢfrom outpatient urologic surgery and 10 normal healthy men.TO test the levels of interleukin-10(IL-10) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) of EPS and normal men with ELISA method.Analyze the difference among the three groups and the correlation between the levels of interleukin-10 or tumor necrosis factor-αand the NIH-CPSI.Result:(1)The IL-10 and TNF-αlevels of group A and group B are both higher than group C in EPS,and the both IL-10 and TNF-αlevels of group A are higher than group B.And the IL-10 and TNF-αlevels of group A,B and C both have relationship with each other(P<0.05). (2)The quantity of white blood cell of the three groups has no relationship to the levels of IL-10 and TNF-αin EPS.①IL-10 with WBC in EPS:Ingroup A:r=0.247,P>0.05;in group B:r=0.032,P>0.05; in group C:r=-0.49,P>0.05.②TNF-αwith WBC in group A:r=-0.157, P>0.05;in group B:r=-0.400,P>0.05;in group C:r=-0.409,P>0.05.(3)In both group A and group B,the levels of IL-10 in EPS has correlation with the levels of and TNF-αin EPS,but in group C the levels of IL-10 in EPS has no correlation with the levels of and TNF-αin EPS.(4)In both group A and group B,the levels of IL-10 in EPS both have correlation with the pain syndrome score, living condition score and total score of NIH-CPSI;and both have no correlation with voiding score of NIH-CPSI.In group C,the levels of IL-10 and TNF-αin EPS both have no correlation with the pain syndrome score, voiding score, living condition score and total score of NIH-CPSI.(5) In group A,group B and group C,the levels of WBC in EPS have no correlation with the pain syndrome score, voiding score, living condition score and total score of NIH-CPSI.Conclusion:(1)The levels of IL-10 and TNF-αin EPS have Positive correlation with the pain syndrome score of NIH-CPSI,it may reflect the activity of CP/CPPS.(2)The cytokines in EPS have value to distinguish betweenⅢA and ⅢB than the levels of the WBC,can be used to distinguish betweenⅢA andⅢB subtype..(3) IL-10 and TNF-αhave been a role in the incidence of prostatitis in the development. There must have existence of correlation between the two.
