Objective: To adopt traditional way of moxibustion while coordinating Chinese medicine to glue on acupuncture point, the rabbits with hyperlipidemia are applied to observe in order to study the effect cake-separated moxibustion on the content of blood lipid and the secretion of nitric oxide and endothelin-1. The mehod is to clarify the mechanism whether cake-separated moxibustion is through protection of vascular endothelial cells to realize the objective that interfere in rabbit with hyperlipiddemia combined Antherosclerosis.Method: The different ways were given to the rabbits and caused the different models of four groups: normal group(group of blank space), model group, group of cake-separated moxibustion and group of direct moxibustion, while adopting different ways to treat them. After six weeks, cholesterol of blood plasma (TC),triglyceride (TG),high density lipoprotein (HDL-ch),low density lipoprotein (LDL-ch),endothelin-1 (ET-1),the nitric oxide (NO) of all groups ared determined by different ways and the changes of ultrastructure of endothelial cells of the aorta of the rabbit is observed with electron microscope.Result: (1) Observation analysis of the result of endothelial cells of aorta with the transmission electron microscope shows: endothelial cells of the groups of direct moxibustion and cake-separated moxibustion are more intact, most of them are normal in forms, internal elastic membrane is continuous, thickness and thinness are also even; the cells of smooth muscle of medial membrane are relatively normal and structure of endothelial cells of aorta of those groups are similar to that of the group of blank space and control group. On the other hand, the structure of endothelial cells of aorta of model group are more changed, it can be observed mainly endothelial cells disappearing, the sedimentation of a great quantity of lipid in cytoplasm; internal elastic membrane is broken, thickness and thinness are not even, there is focal dissolution, there are sedimentation of lipid on the cells of smooth muscle in the medial membrane. (2)The contents of cholesterol and triglyceride of the groups of cake-separated moxibustion and direct moxibustion are lower than that of model group. There are obvious difference between two groups (P<0.01) ; The content of cholesterol of cake-separated moxibustion group is lower than direct moxibustion group. There is also obvious difference between two groups (P<0.01) . (3)The contents of high density lipoprotein in groups of cake-separated moxibustion, direct moxibustion and blank space are obviously higher than model group. The apparent difference are showed between them (P<0.05; P<0.01) ;The contents of low density lipoprotein above three groups are lower than model group. The apparent difference are showed as well between them (P<0.01); The ratio of high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein is higher than model group, while the ratio of high density lipoprotein and cholesterol is also higher than model group. The apparent difference are showed between them (P<0.01 ) (4)The contents of apolipoprotein A of groups of direct moxibustion, cake-separated moxibustion and blank space are obviously higher than model group; The contents of apolipoprotein B about groups of direct moxibustion, cake-separated moxibustion and blank space are obviously lower than model group. The ratio of A/B is higher than model group, There is evident difference between them (P<0.01) .(5)The content of endothelin-1 of blood plasma about model group is higher than that of groups of blank space, direct moxibustion and cake-separated moxibustion. The clear difference are showed between them (P<0.05); However, the content of endothelin-1 between direct moxibustion and cake-separated moxibustion is not showed difference in statistics (P>0.05) . (6)Although there is a tendency of the content of nitric oxide of serum among four groups: model group 0.05). (7) Comparing with the model group, the ratio of endothelin-1 and Nitrogen monoxide of direct group, group of cake-separated moxibustion and normal group is obvious lower (P<0.05); However, there are not difference among them (P>0.05).Conclusion: (1) The cake-separated moxibustion and direct moxibustion can effectively lower content of cholesterol and triglyceride of rabbit with hyperlipidemia and also lower content of low density lipoprotein and apolipoprotein B, and meanwhile, the content of high density lipoprotein can be raised. However, in regulating content of cholesterol cake-separated moxibustion is batter than direct moxibustion. (2) The cake-separated moxibustion and direct moxibustion can effectively lower the content of endothelin-1 and the ratio of endothelin-1 and Nitrogen monoxide in the rabbit plasma with hyperlipidemia combined Atherosclerosis, and neanwhile also can effectively protected the endothelial cells of aorta.
