Objective:To investingate the related factors of occurrence,development and special biological behavior of skin basal cell carcinoma(BCC).Methods:The expressions of connexin43,kail,Survivin and PTEN proteins were detected by immunohistochemical S-P method in 35 patients with BCC,10 patients with normal persons and 18 patients with squamous cell carcinoma(SCC);And the expressions of Cx43 mRNA were detected by in situ hybridization in them.The expression(positive area,optical density)of connexin43,kail,Survivin and PTEN proteins and Cx43 mRNA were detected respectively by computerized image-analysis in normal skin epidermis,BCC and SCC tissues.All the data were input into the computer and statistically analyzed with SPSS(13.0) software.Results:(1) Cx43 protein and its mRNA showed strong positive expression in skin epidermis tissues,positive or weakly positive expression in BCC group,and negative or weak positive in SCC group.Compared with normal skin group and SCC group,the expression(positive area,optical density) of Cx43 protein and its mRNA in BCC group were statistically significant(P<0.01);(2) Survivin protein showed mostly negative in skin epidermis tissues,mostly weak positive in BCC group,and positive or strong positive expression in SCC group.The expression differences of Survivin protein were statistically significant among group of BCC,normal skin and SCC(P<0.05);(3) kail,PTEN protein showed strong positive expression in skin epidermis tissues, positive or weakly positive expression in BCC group,and negative or weak positive in SCC group.Compared with normal skin group and SCC group,the expression differences of kail,PTEN protein in BCC group all had statistically significant (P<0.05);(4) Correlation analysis showed that there was positive correlation between the expressions of PTEN protein and Kail protein(r=0.629,P<0.01),as well as between PTEN protein and Cx43 protein(r=0.519,P<0.01),and there was positive correlation between the expressions of the Cx43 protein and its mRNA(r =0.732,P<0.01) in BCC tissues.Conclusions:(1) The lower expression of Cx43, kail,PTEN proteins and Cx43 mRNA and the higher expression of Survivin protein in BCC may be play important roles in the occurrence and development of it, compared with the normal skin tissues.(2)The higher expression of Cx43,kail, PTEN proteins and Cx43 mRNA and the lower expression of Survivin protein in BCC may be related to the biological characteristics such as slow growth and rare metastasis of it,compared with SCC tissues.
