[Objective]This study was designed to measure the expression of KAI1/CD82,Survivin in thetissues of laryngeal intraepithelial neoplasia (LIN)â… -â…¢, laryngeal squamous cellcarcinoma(LSCC) , vocal cord poly and normal laryngeal mucosa, to explore itscorrelation with clinicopathologic characteristics including clinical stage, histologicalgrade, clinical type, cervical lymph node metastasis, and also to observe the correlationbetweenKAI1/CD82 andSurvivinin thetissuesofLINandLSCC.[Methods]Envision immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of KAI1/CD82gene,Survivin gene in 34 specimens of LINâ… -â…¢, 26 specimens of LSCC, 10specimens of vocal cord poly and 10 specimens of normal laryngeal mucosa., The resultwasstatisticallyanalyzedassociatedwithclinicopathologicfactors.[Results]1. The rates of negative, weak, moderate, and strong expression of KAI1/CD82 in LIN were29.4%(10/34), 20.6%(7/34), 26.5%(9/26), 23.5%(8/26), respectively. Expression ofKAI1/CD82 in LIN had no correlation with histological grade (P=0.1347). The rates ofnegative, weak, moderate, and strong expression of KAI1/CD82 in LSCC were57.7%(15/26), 26.9%(7/26), 15.4%(4/26), 0.0%(0/26), respectively, significantly lowerthanthoseinnormallaryngealmucosa, vocal cordpolyandLIN (P=0.0005).ExpressionofKAI1/CD82 in LSCC was negatively correlated to cervical lymph node metastasis(P=0.0255), but it had no correlation with clinical stage (P=0.1106), tumor histologicalgrade(P=0.4446),andclinicaltype(P=0.9194).2. The rates of negative, weak, moderate, and strong expression of Survivin in LIN were...
