Objective: To investigate the risk factors of the aggressive behaviour in the inpatients with manic episode. Methods: Psychiatric hospitalized records of inpatients with manic episode, meeting the criteria for manic episode of CCMD-3, admitted to the Guangzhou Psychiatric Hospital were collected. The patients were divided into two groups, depending on wheather they had aggressive behavior, one with aggressive behavior and the other without. A logistic regressive analysis was performed to compare their risk factors for each group.Results:1,The result of single-factor analysis in the study shows that nineteen parameters in aggressive group have significant difference compared with non-aggressive group, they are CHOL level,TT3 level, psychiatric disorder family history, addiction history, aggressive behavior history, duration of disease, marriage state, parent education style, living pattern, personality, totol score of BRMS,flight- idea factor score,self-value factor score, sleeping factor score, emotion factor score, sexual desire factor score, hostility factor score, delusion factor score and hallucination factor score. 2,The result of Logistic regressive analysis shows that there are five risk factors of aggressive behavior in the manic inpatients. They are poor integrity of family member structure(X2),positive aggressive behavior history(X7),positive psychiatric disorder history of a family(X8),high hostility factor score(X11) and high delusion factor score(X14).Then we can build up a Logistic regressive analysis equation: Y=-10.21+1.75*X2+3.61*X7+1.74*X8+1.27*X11+1.21*X14.Subsequently,we change this into another equation: P=1/(1+e (10.21-1.75*X2-3.61*X7-1.74*X8-1.27*X11-1.21*X14)),P means the possibility rate of aggressive behavior in a manic inpatient. The Cox&Snell R square is 0.61 and the Nagelkerke R square is 0.81.It means among the total variety of risk factors we can in 61 percent or 81 percent reliability use these five factors to predict the aggressive behaviour of the manic inpatients. Conclusions: 1,The result of Logistic regressive analysis shows that there are five risk factors of aggressive behavior in the manic inpatients. They are poor integrity of family member structure(X2),positive aggressive behavior history(X7),positive psychiatric disorder history of a family(X8),high hostility factor score(X11)and high delusion factor score(X14). 2,According to this study,we can build up the aggressive behaviour predicting equation: P=1/(1+e (10.21-1.75*X2-3.61*X7-1.74*X8-1.27*X11-1.21*X14)) .Using this equation, we can predict the aggressive risk of a manic inpatient. This will help a lot in decreasing the aggression rate in manic inpatients, and this study has afforded a new way to solve the social problems.
