Research On Regional Health Information System Data Integration Based On EHR Data Warehouse

After nearly 20 years development, information system has been widely applied at all levels of professional health organizations, as well as health administration agencies. But the "information silo problem", "chimney information" still seriously exist. Traditional, heterogeneous, business-oriented, operational information systems, can't adapt to new development trends. Thus, in May 2009, the Ministry of Health issued "based on health records platform construction of the Regional Health Information Guide (trial)", to establish regional health information within a unified service platform to meet the needs of users at different levels.In this paper, utilizing data warehouse technology and XML, designing the Electronic Health Record data warehouse in the Regional Health Information System. Including conceptual model design, research and implementation of bidirectional interface between XML and database, then using data ETL(Extract,Transformation,Loading) technology to implement data integration in the Regional Health Information System.Specific contents as follows:Building Electronic Health Record data warehouse, include designs of conceptual model, data model, data granularity, slowly changing dimensions and the XML database for EHR.Research and implementation of bidirectional interface between XML and heterogeneous database, using XML to implement data extract, transformation and Loading. As a result, the Electronic Health Record data warehouse has the ability of data integration.This study could eliminate the " information silo problem ", "chimney information" phenomenon more or less, within the region to meet the various health institutions, health administration agencies and the information needs of the residents.
