The Relationship Between Peptic Ulcer With The Helicobacter Pylori BabA2 And Lewis~b Antigen Status Of Gastric Mucosa In Different Abo Blood Group

Objective:To investigate the babA2 of Helicobacter pylori(H.p)and host gastric Lewis^b(Le^b)antigen status in different ABO blood group,and determine the relationship between the peptic ulcer with it.To discuss whether O-type blood increase the risk of suffering puptic ulcer from the angle of babA2 and Le^b antigen.Methods:By application of ¹⁴C breath test and serum anti-Hp antibody test determine Hp infection,of 56 patients(25 with gastritis,31 with peptic ulcer)with peptic ulcer and indigestion,.Detect ABO blood group of who is Hp-positive,and take endoscopy for 2 gastric specimens.One was cultured and determined for babA2 genotype by polymerase chain reaction.Gastric expression of Le^b obtained from patients with the other one sample was measured immunochemically to determine intensity (range 0-9).We compared babA2 and Le^b expression in different blood group,and the relationship with peptic ulcer.Results:1.Among 56 patients,O-type blood and non-O blood is 71%,29%in peptic ulcer group and is 44%,56%in gastritis group.According to the large sample statistics,O-type blood proportion in Chinese Han persons is about 31%.O-type blood proportion in peptic ulcer is higher than the proportion of gastritis groups and normal groups(P＜0.0125).2.Le^b antigen score of O-type blood is significantly higher than no-O blood type(P＜0.005).3.30 gastric specimens were cultured successfully and 28 cases were babA2-positive strains(7 with peptic ulcer,21 with gastritis),among babA2-positive patients with peptic ulcer,O-type blood proportion is higher than no-O blood type(P＜0.0125).Conclusion:1.O-type blood may be a risk factor for peptic ulcer.2.Patients of O-type blood express higher Le^b antigen of gastric mucosa,high expression of Le^b antigen are more prone to peptic ulcer.3.Patients of babA2-positive O-type blood is more susceptible to peptic ulcer.4.O blood type increased incidence of peptic ulcer may be through high expression of Le^b and babA2 of Hp.
