Cefdinir, as the outstanding third-generation cephalosporin type antibiotics, which have not only a high degree of stability toβ-lactamase, broad antimicrobial spectrum, well treated-effect, low toxicity, but also little side-effect for mainly excreted in the prototype by the kidney. In clinical, it is used for the treatment of skin infections, post-operative infections, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gynecological infections, oral infections, Eye and ENT infections etc. The preparations of cefdinir include capsules and dispersible tablets. At present, in domestic methods of analysis to the contents of cefdinir capsules mainly are high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and UV spectrophotometry. The HPLC method has been embodyed in 2005 edition of"Chinese Pharmacopoeia".High performance capillary electrophoresis (HPCE), as a new technology of separation and analysis, is efficient, fast, precise and easy to automation. Recentlly, HPCE develops rapidlly and has a broad application in the analysis of chemical and biological medicine, but in domestic contents of the cefdinir analyzed by HPCE have not been reported. Therefor, this paper for the first time adopts the HPCE (external standard method) to analyze the contents of cefdinir in Cefdinir in raw material, Cefdinir capsules and Cefdinir dispersible tablets.By reference to relevant literatures, in accordance with relevant theoretical knowledges and experimental operations, see about various separating factors of analyzing the contents of cefdinir in Cefdinir in raw material, Cefdinir capsules and Cefdinir dispersible tablets and confirm the optimal condition.Methods: To determine the content of the cefdinir in raw material, capsule, and dispersible. The best condition was achived with a fuse dsilca capillary tube(80cm×75μm), 25mmol/L sodium tetraborate decahydrate buffer(pH=6.5), at a constant voltage of 20kV and a sample time of 10s at room temperature. The UV detection wavelength was at 254nm. The calibration curves was linear in the range of 2~50μg/mL for cefdinir(r=0.9996). The average recovery of cefdinir was 99.18%(n=3,RSD=1.83%). HPCE method is simple, quick, economical and practical for the quantitative analysis of cefdinir in raw material, Cefdinir capsules, Cefdinir dispersible tablets and can control the quality of cefdinir.
