Endocrine And Metabolic Effects Of Metformin In Combination With Diane-35 In Treatment Of Women With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Of Thirty Cases

Objective To study the effects of metformin(MTF) and Diane-35 for treating infertile patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) complicated with insulin resistance(IR).Methods Eighty-six cases of PCOS with IR divided into two groups.The patients of study group(n=44) took metformin,Diane-35 and control weight for three months.The patients of control group(n=42) were given Diane-35 and control weight for three months.Several biomedical parameters were recorded before and after the treatment,including weight,plasma level of glucose,sexual hormones and insulin.Ovulation,menstruation changes and drug adverse reactions were also observed.Results①The patients of study group after treatment can significantly decrease body weight from (28.7±4.8) kg/m2 to (25.2±6.7) kg/m2,the difference was statistical significance;The patients of control group after treatment can significantly decrease body weight from (27.9±5.3) kg/m2 to (25.5±4.7) kg/m2,the difference was statistical significance.②The patients of study group after treatment can significantly decrease the basal insulin level from (22.3±4.3) mu/L to (17.2±3.9) mu/L,and insulin resistance level(HOMA IR) from (3.4±1.8) to (2.4±1.7),the difference was statistical significance;The patients of control group after treatment can significantly decrease basal insulin level from (23.1±4.6) mu/L to (19.8±5.2) mu/L,and insulin resistance level(HOMA IR) from (3.2±1.7) to (2.8±1.8),the difference was statistical significance;The difference of two groups after treatment was statistical significance.③The patients of study group after treatment can significantly decrease testosterone levels from (118.3±68.3) ug/L to (82.7±48.9) ug/L;The patients of control group after treatment can significantly decrease testosterone levels from (110.3±65.7) ug/L to (90.6±59.3) ug/L,the difference was statistical significance;The difference of two groups after treatment had no statistical significance. The patients of study group after treatment can significantly decrease LH from (14.7±4.1) IU/L to (11.9±2.1) IU/L;The patients of control group after treatment can significantly decrease LH levels from (14.9±2.3) ug/L to (12.1±1.9) ug/L,the difference was statistical significance;The difference of two groups after treatment had no statistical significance.④Menstruation recovery rate in study groups was 81.82%,0vulation rate in study group was 72.73%, Menstruation recovery rate in control group was 78.57%,0vulation rate in control groups was 60.0%, The difference of two groups after treatment had no statistical significance.⑤Metformin's adverse reactions were diarrhea and nausea. The adverse reactions in patients of study group taking metformin have loose stools (9.1%), nausea (13.3%). Medication control group had no obvious adverse reactions.Conclusions Diane-35 and Metformin therapy decreases high T,INS,BMI levels,and it's security,saveing money,convenient.
