Obesity is the excessive intake of energy lead to excessive accumulation of body fat (or) due to abnormal distribution of body weight than the standard 20% of pathological state, it is a multi-factor of chronic metabolic diseases, time long, it will complicated by high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, pulmonary heart disease, diabetes, fatty liver and other various diseases which have now become worldwide epidemic. According to IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) 2002~2003 survey (statistics the range of ages 20 years and over), Brazil has 9% of the population is too fat weight, and 40% of the population are overweight, To distinguish between sex, male has 8.9% obesity weight and women has 13.1%. TCM believes that there are Earlier Heaven defect, improper diet, maladjustment of work and rest, injury caused by emotions, These related to the dysfunction of liver, spleen, kidney, and clinically manifested as abnormalities of sweating, appetite, also stool, and abdominal distention, fatigue and other symptoms.Objective:The incidence of obesity increased year by year, obesity has become increasingly popular worldwide social phenomenon, so weight loss is one of the hot topics. Brazil is one of the world's most complex ethnic, racial "melting pot" countries, the more share of Portuguese ancestry in Brazil, and higher incidence of obesity, so as to Brazilian Portuguese descent in this study. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted in Brazilian Portuguese descent, obesity observation of TCM syndrome differentiation, and its characteristics and causes of syndromes statistical analysis on the future development of Chinese medicine treatment of obesity abroad program to provide a standardized clinicalbasis.Methods:Portuguese descent obesity 135 patients in the Healthy Brazilian clinic, and questionnaires were gaven, according to Brazilian Portuguese descent TCM obesity of the questionnaire, induction of sweating, loss of appetite, stool, and abdominal distention, fatigue and other symptoms in the distribution of each syndrome.Conclusion:1. The 135 patients,according to TCM statistical analysis, have a total of five sub-license type:(1) Spleen Damp type in 35 cases,25.9%; (2) 20 cases of Liver Qi stagnation type, accounting for 14.8%; (3) 40 cases of Stomach damp heat type, accounting for 29.7%; (4), Spleen and Kidney deficiency type25 cases,18.5%; (5) 15 cases of Kidney Yin deficiency type, accounting for 11.1%.2. Loose stools most in Spleen Damp type, Spleen and Kidney deficiency type; constipation most in Stomach damp heat type.3. Abdominal distention, fatigue, typically found in Spleen and Kidney deficiency type, Spleen Damp type.4. The fundamental causes of this disease is the patient's eating habits and lifestyles.
