On Feb 23rd 2010, five Ministries and Commissions Directly under the State Council together promulgated'on the reform of public hospitals, the pilot guidance'(hereinafter referred to as "guidance opinions"). "Guiding opinions" clearly stated:From the beginning of this year to promote the public hospital reform with public welfare as the core, and the difficulties and costliness of civilian medical care would be authentically solved through 9 different aspects, which means that the new medical reform has begun to embark on the most difficult journey. Since the campaign "Year of Hospital Administration" was launched by Ministry of Health and State Ministration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the doctor-patient relationship has become a hot topic in the entire society. However, this relationship has been becoming tenser and tenser and it largely influences the harmony and justice of our society. Based on the theories of hospital clients administration and the doctor-patient relationship administration, our research made an in-depth doctor-patient relationship investigation at a Three Level First-class provincial hospital in the past six months. In this research, we chose 200 patients,100 family members of patients and 120 employees to do the questionnaire by stochastic sampling method. In order to study the institution of doctor-patient relationship there thoroughly and entirely, we also chose some patients and employees to do the in-depth interviews and the small group discussions. Based on the results of this investigation and compared with the data from several large hospitals, our research made an objective and accurate diagnose of the institution of doctor-patient relationship at this hospital. Meanwhile, a series of plans about the administration of doctor-patient relationship were concluded. Besides, to some extent, this investigation into a Three Level First-class provincial hospital reflects the blue print of doctor-patient relationship in China, and it also provided some feasible suggestions and countermeasures for relieving the tension between doctors and patients to promote the development of hospital and maintain social stability.
