Traditional Chinese Medicine "Danggui" is from the dried roots of umbelliferous plant Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels.lt is a traditional Chinese medicine (CTM). However, there are many problems in the resource situation and quality control of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels.Through literature collection, field surveys, sample inspection, market research in the whole country, we systematically analyzed the original plant of "Danggui", suitable planting areas, geographical distribution and production. Our investigation revealed that the main producing area of "Danggui" include Gansu, Sichuan, Hubei. Shaanxi and Qinghai has a small amount of distribution. Wild resources distributed only in Shaanxi, Sichuan, Gansu, Xizang. Through the systematic analysis of ecological factors on the main producing areas,we got that the best elevation was 1750-3100m, the best even relative humidity was 65-80%,the best annual even day length was 1380-2650 h, the best annual even temperature was 3.3-12.8℃, and the best annual precipitation was 500-1250mm.The investigation also revealed that in recent years the sources of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels was complex, the plant had serious situation of early pumping stems, and wild plant was also difficult to collection.we also made a brief about cultivation techniques and pest control technique of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels in different places. Finally we analyzed the market demand of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels.By the studies of the whole growing process of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels from sowing to harvest,we got the best cultivation method of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels in Gansu region was the seedling transplanting cultivation, the best harvest time of the root was in September of the second year, the appropriate time to harvest seeds was in August of the third year. The fresh weight of the roots was about 882 g for each square meter, the dry weight of the roots was about 252g for each square meter, the drying rate was about 3.5. the reserves of roots was 2520 kg per hectare. Through the whole experiment we fund that breeding in wasteland will cause environmental degradation, transplanting seedlings through winter storage were easy pumping stems, and got blossom. which will cause the loss of the total roots output. We collected 40 samples of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels from the main producing areas and distributiong areas(4 provinces 13towns)in China and extract volatile oil with the supercritical CO2 fluid extraction technology. The suitable pressure of extraction condition was 35MPa,temperature was 35℃,time was 120min.Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and the z-ligustilide and butylidenephthalide have been used to analyze the essential oils of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels from different areas. We confirmed the quality characteristic of major production areas, and comprehensive analysised and commented on the Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels from different regions,we got the innovative results.Comprehensive analysis showed that Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels in ZhangXian had best quality; Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels in MinXian was better than other places among appearance, product quantity and compound type; major effective ingredient content of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels in ZhanYi was highest, besides, the growth cycle was only one year, short then other types,so it was worth to be cultivated. The results also showed that the wild resources in DieBu had a better quality and a wide genetic diversity, but the wild resources faced a situation of extinction, and we need to strengthen the protection of the wild resources.
