Objective:Laryngeal carcinoma is one of the common tumor of otorhinolaryngology. The incidence of this tumor has increased in recent years, but the carcinogenic mechanisms wasn't known. So we researched the infections of HPV type 16,18 in the samples including different human laryngeal lesions, different tumor grades, clinical stages from the gene and protein sides, in order to investigate the relationship between the HPV16/18 infection and laryngeal carcinoma. Methods:Using PCR and Western-blotting method, we detected the infections of HPV type 16, 18 in the samples including different human laryngeal lesions, different tumor grades, clinical stages. The data of this study was statistically analyzed using x2 test by SPSS13.0 statistical software.Results:(1)There were significant differences for the HPV16/18 infection between laryngeal carcinoma, precancerous lesion and normal tissue(P<0.05).(2)The positive rate of HPV16/18 significantly increased between the different clinical stages of the laryngeal carcinoma(P<0.05).(3)The expression of HPV16/18 were correlated with tumor grades of the laryngeal carcinoma(P<0.05).(4)There were significant differences for HPV 16/18 between the group with lymph node metastasis and the group without lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusions:The infection of the HPV 16/18 increased with the development from the normal tissue to laryngeal carcinoma. It means the infection of the HPV 16/18 is correlated with the laryngeal carcinoma. Moreover the infection of the HPV16/18 increased with different clinical stages and tumor grades of the laryngeal carcinoma. It indicates that HPV 16/18 maybe participate in the development of the laryngeal carcinoma through the gene integration after it induces the laryngeal carcinoma.
