Objective To analyze the clinical features of inflammatory bowl disease and investigate their diagnosis and treatment.Methods 354 cases of in-patients were retrospectively analyzed in our hospital from January 1998 to July 2009 and 504 cases of out-patients from January 2003 to July 2009.Results Our data indicated there had been a rising trend for IBD in recent 12 years in our hospital. The number of UC patient was significantly more than CD, and male patients were more than female(1.28:1).IBD average age of occurrence was (41.065±16.07), the peak age of UC was from 30 to 49 years old, while CD was from 20 to 39 years old. There was no statistic difference between race proportion of UC and CD in-patients. The pathological diagnostic rate of IBD was 41.5%. The UC misdiagnosis rate was 17.0%, while CD was 25.0%. Treatment of IBD was mainly by 5-aminosalicylate (5-ASA) agents and glucocorticoidsConclusion Occurrence of IBD has a rising trend in our hospital in recent year. Diagnosis of IBD is mainly based on enteroscope and pathology. IBD is a chronic recurrent disease and should be long-term treatment.
