Holmium Laser Lithotripsy Urder Ureteroscopy For Treating Bilateral Ureteral Calculi Combined With Acute Renal Failure (Report Of 21 Cases)

Introduction and objectives: With the development of ESWL and endoscopic lithotripsy,traditional opening surgery for the treatment of urological stone disease were almost disappeared due to its more invasive and longer postoperative recovery. Here in we try to seek a safer and reliable method by using ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy. To evaluate the the treatment effect and safety of holmium laser lithotripsy for treating ureteral calculi combined with acute renal failure.Methods : the clinical data of 21 patient with ureteral calculi combined with acute renal failure treated by ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy.were analyzed retrospectively.Results : after the operation the serum Bun and Cr levels in the patients decreased to about normal level and the stone free rate was up to 95.2 % (20/21) .Conclusions: the ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy can be the first choice for the upper urinary tract obstruction associated with acute renal failure, it can also deal with the double sites of ureteral calculi diseases due to its safety and efficiency.
