Usage Of Self-made Dry Towels For Hand Hygiene Among Healthcare Workers

Objective To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of self-made dry towels for hand hygiene among healthcare workers and provide the basis for its further use. Method A self control test is carried out on twenty healthcare workers of class III environment. Firstly, bacterial samplings is conducted immediately after using two hand hygiene methods (self-made dry towels and disposable dry towels); secondly, take down the dynamic changes in the number of bacterial and record the time when the hand becomes dry; thirdly, calculate the cost of two hand hygiene methods; finally, the obtained data is analyzed using SPSS. Result there is no significant statistical difference between the dry time (t=1.633, P=0.119) and the number of bacterial (Z=-0.511, P=0.609) for the two methods; However, the self-made dry towels is much more cheap than the disposable dry towels。Conclusion Results show that the self-made dry towel has the advantages of low cost and reusage, and it is worth being promoted。...
