To investigate the effects of theβ-receptor blocker (esmolol) on the brachial blood pressure and the central blood pressure in patients with hypertention.MethodsThe line after radial artery coronary angiography were 29 cases of simultaneous measurement of blood pressure in patients with aortic root (direct measurement) and the brachial Artery (direct measurement) of blood pressure.Radial arterial Pressure was taken as peripheral arterial pressure and aseending Aortal Pressure was taken as central blood Pressure, recorded a pre-esmolol,5minutes after administration of blood pressure.ResultsThe brachial artery SBP was 1.69±2.39mmHg (P<0.05) higher than aortic artery SBP on the physiological state of hypertensive patients; aortic DBP, MAP compared with peripheral DBP, MAP without significant difference; brachial artery pulse pressure was higher than aortic pulse pressure.Esmolol reduced brachial artery SBP greater than the aortic SBP 4.44±1.27mmHg (P<0.05). Reduce the brachial artery DBP and aortic DBP was no significant difference.ConclusionThe physiological conditions, high blood pressure in patients with brachial artery SBP can not represent the aortic SBP.Esmolol decrease aortic artery SBP lower significantly than brachial artery SBP.
