ObjectiveTo analyze the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) enhanced mode in renal malignant tumors and to discuss the effect on time-intensity curve parameters with different doses of ultrasound contrast agent.MethodsThirty-one patients with renal malignant tumors, including twenty-five males and six females, after intravenous bolus injection via ulnar vein SonoVue, dose of 1.2ml to 2.4ml, divided into four groups according to dose,1.2ml 9 cases,1.5ml 10 cases,2.0ml 6 cases,2.4ml 6 cases. The observation of ultrasound contrast enhancement pattern of renal cancer and the mapping of imaging time-intensity curves, to obtain the relevant ultrasound time-intensity curve parameters (arrival time (AT), time to peak (TTP), peak intensity (PI), ascending slope rate (ASR), area under ascending curve (AUAC)), then to analyze the effect of four different doses on time-intensity curve parameters.ResultsAll renal tumors showed a dynamic enhancement changes in CEUS. An early cortex phase enhancement and slow wash-out was presented in all cases. A curve presenting increasing quickly and descenting slowly to basal level were observed on TIC. The AT and the TTP were decreased along with the dosage in four groups and significant differences (P<0.05) were observed between2.4ml groups and other dosage groups. The PI was increased along with the dosage in four groups and significant differences were found between 2.4ml group and 1.5ml group,2.0ml group (P<0.05). No significant differences were observed in four groups on the ASR and the AUAC. ConclusionsCEUS can accurately reflect the enhanced mode of microvascular of renal malignant tumors. There is no significant differences on TIC with a certain range of dosage on CEUS for evaluating renal tumors, but increased to 2.4ml dose may cause significant differences.
