ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical value of diagnosing peripheral artery disease in type 2 diabetes with the ankle-brachial index. and investigate the relevant risk factors of blood vessel disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.MethodsABI was examined in the 110 patients with type 2 diabetes with ES-1000 Doppler diagnostic instrument of blood vessel. Taking color Doppler ultrasound (CDU) diagnostic of standard as definition, the related diagnostic criterions of PAD was assessed by the method of ankle-brachial(ABI).The patients were divided into group A (ABI>0.9) and B(ABI<0.9), Aged, diabetes duration, sex, glucose, hypertension, high levels of total cholesterol, high levels of fasting plasma glucose, low level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, HbAlc,smoking habit, overweight or obesity, were recorded. Using T test or Chi square test, to compare two groups'statistics difference, Using logistic stepwise regression to analyze the independent risk factor of PAD in patients with diabetes mellitus.ResultsTaking the lower limbs artery ultrasound as the gold standard, the diagnostic coincidence of ABI in PAD was 95.36%, indicating that using ABI to assess the PAD in patients with DM has very high clinical value. Through T test or Chi square test, we found the risk factors of blood vessel disease in type 2 diabetes patients include age, hypertension, high levels of total cholesterol, high levels of fasting plasma glucose, overweight or obesity, etc. ConclusionsCompared to the Color Doppler Ultrasound of lower limbs, ABI can be the diagnosing criterion of PAD in patients with 2-DM, This study showed that old age, long course, overweight or obesity, hypertension, high levels of total cholesterol, high levels of fasting plasma glucose are the risk factors of PAD in 2-DM.And the course was the independent risk of PAD.
