Analysis Of The Cause Of Discontinuing Hemodialysis Therapy And Its Correlated Factors In Maintance Hemodialysis Patients

PurposeTo analyze the causes of discontinuing hemodialysis therapy and the corrected factors in maintenance hemodialysis ,Accordingly to adopt integrative prevention measure to improve the survival quality and degrade the mortality.Methodswe retrospectively analyzed 189 discontinuing hemodialysis patienets ,compared with 148 maintenance hemodialysis patients ,in our hospital during the period from Jan.1999 to Oct.2009.ResultsIn these patients, 189 cases (56.1%) discontinued hemodialysis therapy, of which the main causes were death (19.9%), renal transplantation (17.2%), and change hospital (17.5%). The age of death was older (P<0.05), while the age of transplantation and change hospital was younger (P<0.05). The main cause of death was cardiovascular disease s(29.85%), the next cause of death was cerebrovascular diseases (20.9%), other causes (17.9%), and serious infect (16.4%)。The composition of protopathy was chronic glomerular nephropathy ,chronic interstitial nephritis and diabetic nephropathy.Conclusion1,Cardiovascular diseases were the main cause of death (29.85%), the next were cerebrovascular diseases(20.9%).2,Diabetes and older age were the factors relating to the higher mortality rate. 3,In patients with maintenance hemodialysis, death transplantation and change hospital were the major causes leading to discontinuation of this therapy.
