ObjectiveTo investigate the pathogeny, clinical features, electromyographic and magnetic resonance imaging characteristics of subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord(SCD).MethodsRetrospectively analysis 30 patients with clinically confirmed SCD, all the patients accepted lab examination,MRI and electromyographic examination and were given effectively clinical treatment. Results Anemia was found in 17of 30 cases (56.67%).The serum VitB12 level decreased before the onset of the disease in 19of 30 cases(63.33%).4 of 22 patients (13.33%) showed abnormal signal in posterior horn in the spinal MRI.22 of 25 patients (88.0%) showed abnormal changes in electromyography(EMG),and MCV decereased 12 cases(48.0%), SCV decreased 17cases(68.0%).25 patients (83.33%) got effectiveness after treatment.ConclusionsSCD is associated with VitB12 deficiency, and trial treatment with VitB12is effective, which provides important value to diagnosis; the examination of lab,MRI and electromyographic play an important role in clinic.
