PurposeTo study The expression of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) in Skin Scar Carcinoma and Hypertrophic Scar tissues.MethodsThe expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in 24 skin scar carcinoma tissues,10 skin scar tissues and 10 normal skin tissues was detected by the immunohistochemical SP method. Pictures were collected and analyzed by computerized image-analysis, and statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS 13.0 software.ResultsThe expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in Skin Scar Carcinoma tissues is higher than normal skin and Hypertrophic Scar (P<0.05), has statistical significance (P<0.05), and associated with pathologic grade of SSC; the difference between Hypertrophic Scar tissues and normal skin has no statistical significance (P>0.05)ConclusionsThe abnormal expression of Toll-like receptors 2,4 in Skin Scar Carcinoma tissues may contributes to carcinogenesis and cancer progression.
