ObjectiveTo observe the differences of homocysteine level of plasma with prior treatment and post-treatment of acute ischemic Stroke. To explore the relationship between the degree of neurological deficit of different syndrome types of Traditioal Chinese Medicine with homocysteine in prior treatment and post-treatment, then come to explore the clinical evaluation of acute ischemic stroke after TCM treatment. MethodsIn this study, with the use of forward-control research methods, we chosed patients from the emergency department of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM. During June 2009 to April 2010, In accordance with the diagnostic criteria and inclusion criteria, we selected 40 cases of subjects who are up to standard. According to the diagnostic criteria which was stipulated for syndrome types of TCM by Institute of Medicine of China Society of TCM in 1996, the patients were divided into six syndrome types of TCM. First,we used disposable blood samples of the patients who were In line with the inclusion criteria, and then Tested plasma homocysteine levels twice of all the patients in prior treatment and 14 days after treatment. At the same time, we made out the score with the degree of neurological deficit of a variety of syndrome types of TCM of acute ischemic Stroke, To measure the Recovery of neurological function between different syndrome types. At last we tested the result with statistical analysis between the data we have given with homocysteine.ResultsThere are six syndrome types of TCM of acute ischemic Stroke(40 samples), there are wind-phlegm hyperactive Fire pattern(4 samples), wind-fire interferential pattern(2 samples), intestinal block of phlegm-heat pattern(3 samples), wind-phlegm obstruction pattern(22 samples), phlegm-dampness clouding spirit pattern(7 samples) and the pattern of qi deficiency with blood Stasis(2 samples).â‘ here is a significant difference with the scores of neurological deficit in prior treatment and post-treatment, P<0.01. There is a significant difference in wind-phlegm obstruction pattern and phlegm-dampness clouding spirit pattern, too, P<0.05.â‘¡There is a significant difference with the Hey level in prior treatment and post-treatment by statistical analysis, P<0.01. There is a significant difference in wind-phlegm hyperactive Fire pattern, wind-phlegm obstruction pattern and phlegm-dampness clouding spirit pattern, too, P<0.05.â‘¢The cumulative distribution of droop rate of Hey levels and the scores of neurological deficit nearly is normal distribution by statistical analysis. The droop rate of Hey levels in all patients is high correlation with the droop rate of the scores of neurological deficit(Pearson's correlation coefficient 0.705, P<0.01). The droop rate of Hey levels in wind-phlegm obstruction pattern is high correlation with the droop rate of the scores of neurological deficit (Pearson's correlation coefficient 0.859, P<0.01).ConclusionThe patient's scores of neurological deficit who were acute ischemic stroke significantly declined after treatment, also in Hey levels. The cumulative distribution of droop rate of Hey levels and the scores of neurological deficit nearly were normal distribution and high correlation (R 0.705, P<0.01). The correlation of wind-phlegm obstruction pattern was higher(R 0.859, P<0.01).The result points out the droop rate of Hey levels can be a reference index to assess the Recovery of neurological function, especially in wind-phlegm obstruction pattern.
