Objective To study the infectious status of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in Yanji City, and to provide a scientific basis for controlling the disease.Methods Antibodies against HCV were detected in sera of healthy people and patients in-and out-department of Fuzhi Hospital, Yanbian University, using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results The total positive rate of anti-HCV antibody was 2.54%; the positive rate was 2.64% and 2.41% in male and female respectively. There was no significant difference between male and female in anti-HCV antibody positive rates. The positive rate of anti-HCV antibody in different employee was analyzed. The people working in hospital were the highest. The anti-HCV antibody positive rates were increased with the age.Conclusion The total infectious rate of HCV is positively correlated with age and ocupation. Thus in-depth study and monitoring of hepatitis C should be strengthened in the future in order to reduce the incidence of hepatitis C.
