Objective:This article explored the changes of plasma homocysteine, serum lipid in simple obese children, and the relations between plasma homocysteine, serum lipid and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. It provides a new path to prevent and cure the simple obesity and adult cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases for children.Method:34 cases of simple obese children were collected, which 20 males and 14 females, aged 7-14 years with a mean age of 10.57±2.10 years;25 cases of healthy children were selected in our study in the same period, which 13 males and 12 females, age 7-14 years with a mean age of 10.60±2.03 years. The liver morphology were detected by Color Doppler ultrasound.Venous blood was drawed by 12 hours fasting.Total plasm homocysteine(HCY) was determined by enzymatic.cholesterol(TC),trigly-ceride(TG)were determined by Enzymatic colorimetric endpoint.Highden-sity lipoprotein(HDL-Ch),low-density lipoprotein(LDL-Ch) were deter-mined by PEG method, plasma lipoprotein(a)(LP(a))concentration were determined by immunoturbidimetry.Dates were expressed as the mean±standard error of the mean.Mean between the two groups were compared by t-test.Association between groups was analyzed by linar correlation, with P <0.05 as statistically significant.Results:1. Changes in liver morphology:18 cases of simple obese children had the changes in liver morphology, while only 1 case of healthy children had it.2. Levels of Serum lipid:Serum TC,TG,LDL-Ch with simple obese children were significantly higher than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum HDL-Ch,(LP(a))between the two groups had not obvious difference(P>0.05).3. Levels of serum HCY:The levels of plasma HCY in the Simple obese children(10.91±2.57umol/l)was significantly higher than control group (5.13±1.12umol/l).The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4. The level of plasma HCY and blood lipid had not obvious relevance.Conclusion:1. Simple obese children had significant grease metabolism disorder.2. Simple obese children were more susceptible to suffer from fatty liver than healthy children,it had close related to the obesity and grease metabolism.3. The level of HCY was significantly higher in simple obese children, and the level of plasma HCY and blood lipid had not obvious relevance,it was one of independent hazard factor of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
