Objective To investigate the clinical effect of neoadjuvant chemo-therapy on cervical cancer in stageâ… b2-â…¡b.Methods sixty-four patients with cervical cancer in stageâ… b2-â…¡b were chosen in our hospital from Nine 2003 to April 2008. All patients were treated with 1-2 course of neoadjuvant intra-arteral chemotherapy (NAIC) and then underwent radical surgery. Results The effective rate of neoadjuvant intra-arteral chemotherapy was 81.25%. Four of them were complete remission. The rate of surgery after chemotherapy was 100%. Preoperative NAIC could apparently increase the rate of radical resection. And the therapeutic effect was not associated with clinical staging, but related to histological type. The effective rate of chemotherapy in squamous cell cancer was significantly higher than that in adenocarcinoma (P<0.05).Conclusion Neoadjuvant chemotherapy of cervical cancer is safe and effective, and can increase short-term effect. As a new and effective method for treating cervical cancer, it is an important role in clinic.
