Objective:This study aims to investigate the psychological health situation of burned patients in burn unit of Jincheng Coal Trade Group General Hospital by burns questionnaire, and explore the relativity between personality traits and psychological morbidity. In this study,we analysis the psychological health situation and social support in different genders,burn severity, different education level and explore the prevalence factors of psychological morbidity in burn injured patients,and find an effective psychological teratment.we believe that this study can provide a scientific guidance for psychological treatment in burned patients.Methods:No l:The subjects were 124 adult burned patients who had been treated at the burn unit of Jincheng Coal Trade Group General Hospital as in-patient between October 2008 and December 2009, Measures were coping with questionnaire. The questionnaire designed by ourselves,Symptom checklist, social support scale, YiSenKe personality questionnaire were used. The questionnaire were distributed unify by the author and the nurses of our derparment,and make detailed explanation.Those who fill in difficulity can assist by the investigator or the family member.The questionnaire were taken back on the spot.No 2:Based on the investigation, the statistical analysis were performed by using the Excel database, SPSS 13.0 software,including descriptive analysis, chi-square, test (group, matching,), analysis of variance, single factor analysis of variance, and logistic regression analysis of multiple factors. All statistical tests were performed by two-tailed test (inspection standard,α=0.05), P is less than or equal to 0.05 are thought to statistically significant differences.Results:1. SCL-90 factor scores in burned patients are higher than the normal scores on physical discomfort, depression, anxiety, hostile, terror, paranoia and psychiatric rating. According to the statistical analysis (P< 0.05), the total scores in burn patients are higher than norm (P< 0.05), and has a statistical significance.2. SCL-90 factor scores in different gender of burn patients reveal that female patients get a higher scores on anxiety, fear, paranoid compared with male patients,but according to the statistical analysis there is no differences in statistically significant (P> 0.05).3. Each factor score of SCL-90 at severe burn patients were significantly higher than patients with moderate burns and mild burns, there was difference statistically significant (P< 0.05). Each factor score of SCL-90 at patients with moderate burns was significantly higher than patients with mild burns, there was difference statistically significant (P< 0.05).4. Scores affected by educational degree:those with a high school or college education get a higher scores in physical discomfort, hostile than those with a lower education,there is a significant difference (P< 0.05). But those with a high school or college education get a lower scores in paranoid than those with a lower education, there is difference under the statistical significance (P< 0.05).5. The score of body unwell, hostile, terror at patients with industrial injury and medical insurance is higher than at patients without medical insurance (P< 0.05), there was significant difference at statistical significance. The score of psychiatric rating at patients without medical insurance than patients with industrial injury and medical insurance (P<0.05), there is a significant difference.6. There is no significant difference for the SCL-90 score of body and mental bodies between head facial burn patients and body burn patients. The SCL-90 scores of force, interpersonal relationship, depression, anxiety, hostile, terror, paranoia and other factors were statistically significant differences.7. Different type of character and temperament of emotional expression:124 patients were divided according to the characteristics of mood disorders, including those with anxiety in 59 and depression in 40 cases, no obvious symptoms in 25. Compare EPQ scores among groups. (N) (neurotic) compared to L(indisguise) had no significant difference, E (introvert and extrovert)has significant statistically significant (P<0.05). P (psychoticism) has significant difference (P<0.05), E scores higher, P scores lower in anxious group,which reveals patients of extrovert just feel anxious without anxiety or depression reaction. E scores obviously low and P scores higher in depressed group which reveals patients of introvert and neurotic feel mainly depressed.8. Logistic regression analysis shows that the personality of open or close, the burned area, and burn severity, social support is the main influencing factors of the psychological symptoms.9. Psychological health situation of burned patients is relevant to social support. Good family support system can support patients through psychological crisis. Good social support can release and improve psychosomatic symptoms.Conclusions1. General level of the mental health of burned patients is not good enough. 2. Mental health of burned patients has diference in term of different burn degree, the burned area, educational degree, medical treatment charge.3. The inside and outside character of burned patients are correlative to psychological symptoms.4. There is a corelation between the psychologically healthy level and the conditions of social support.
