Etanercept And Sulfasalazine Treatment Of Anakylosing Spondylitis Clinical Controlled Trial Study

Objective:compare with SSZ, evaluated the curative effect of Recombinant Human Tumor Necrosis Factor-Fc Fusion Protein (merchandise name:Etanercept) on inflamma-tory cytokines of blood serum of patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Methods:Choose 40 patients of Ankylosing Spondylitis and divide them into two groups at random, each 20 person, use Etanercept (25 mg|times, two times for a week) and SSZ (1.0 g|times, two times for a day) treatment respectively, treat a distance for 12 weeks, compare the curative effect difference of two medicines while curing after 6 weeks and 12 weeks. And compare levels of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), C-reactive protein and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α(TNF-α) of blood serum in the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The efficient of Etanercept is 95%,95% at 6 weeks,12 weeks; the efficient of SSZ is 50%, 70% at 6 weeks,12 weeks. There is the statistics difference between the Etanercept group and the SSZ group (P<0.05). The Etanercept group can obviously alleviate the AS patient's low-back-pain and shorten the time of morning ankylosis, ease the press-pain, and the effect is sooner, the curative effect of etanercept is better than SSZ (P<0.05). Moreover, the Etanercept group is also obviously better than the SSZ group in the aspects of shortenning distance from middle-finger to floor and increasing Schober test distance, The difference all includes a statistics to learn meaning (P<0.05). But two groups have no obvious difference in the aspects of improving the distance between occiput and wall, The difference has no statistics to learn meaning (P>0.05). In addition, the Etanercept group is better than SSZ group (P<0.05)in the reduction of levels of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate(ESR), C-reactive protein and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α(TNF-α) of blood serum of AS patients. Conclusion:The curative effect of etanercept for AS is better than SSZ. And it can obviously reduce levels of of Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), C-reactive protein and Tumor Necrosis Factor-α(TNF-α) of blood serum.
