Purposes:This issue analyses the TCM symptom of Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN), to understand its disease characteristics and explore the laws of TCM syndrome differentiation.Approaches:The study, adopting the means of retrospective survey and field survey, make a statistics of 100 cases of idiopathic membranous nephropathy, which are sampled from the Nephrology inpatient and outpatient of Affiliated Hospital of Shandong Traditional Chinese Medical University, Shandong Provincial Hospital, Qilu Hospital and Qianfoshan Hospital. On the basis of surveys, the paper explores the laws of TCM about IMN with Clustering Analysis and Frequency Description. Results:Within the 100 cases of patients in statistics, there are 69 males and 31 females, with age range from 14 to 77 years and average age of 47.76±13.923 years old. The ages of patients are mainly distributed in the stage of 40 to 70 years, and the highest number appears in the stage of 40 to 50 years. In these patients,76 cases perform as nephrotic syndrome,24 cases are diagnosed as chronic glomerulonephritis,32 cases are check out with microscopic hematuria and 30 cases with light-moderate hypertension,10 cases suffer from thrombosis and embolism complications (performed as pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis), and there is nobody with impaired renal function. The pathogenesis of IMN is fairly complex, and its TCM syndrome characterized by marked this virtual real, and the deficiency of both spleen and kidney is the root of their diseases. Moreover, qi and yin deficiency, as well as deficiency of liver and kidney also exist. The excess symptoms mainly involve moisture, wet heat, and ecchymosis. Conclusion:The TCM syndrome of IMN characterized by marked this virtual real. Deficiency mainly represents the deficiency of both spleen and kidney, and qi and yin deficiency, as well as deficiency of liver and kidney also exist because of duration of the diseases and the influence of drugs. The excess symptoms mainly involve moisture, wet heat, and ecchymosis. Qi-deficiency is the key to wet, heat, blood stasis. The pathological factors mentioned above interact and influence mutually, making the conditions of IMN to become so complex, entangling, and difficult to cure.
