The Value Of BMP5 And BMP6 In The Diagnosis Of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Objective: To investigate the value of bone morphogenetic protein5 (BMP5) and bone morphogenetic protein6 (BMP6) in serum for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods: The altogether 79 people have been divided into four groups including the normal control group(n=9),the hepatitis B group(n=20),the liver cirrhosis group(n=22) and HCC group(n=28). By using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay to determine the densities of BMP5 and BMP6 in serum in four groups. By using radio immunoassay to determine the density of AFP.Results:1. In the compare of the HCC group and the normal control group, the density of BMP5 in the HCC group decreases(107.097 pg·mL^-1vs137.011 pg·mL^-1), and the difference has statistic significance (P<0.05). In the compare of the HCC group and the normal control group, the density of BMP6 in the HCC group decreases(162.518 pg·mL^-1vs 340.212 pg·mL^-1), and the difference has statistic significance (P<0.01). In the compare of HCC group and the hepatitis B group, the density of BMP6 in the HCC group decreases(162.518 pg·mL^-1vs 305.111 pg·mL^-1), and the difference has statistic significance (P<0.01). In the compare of HCC group and the cirrhosis group, the density of BMP6 in the HCC group decreases (162.518 pg·mL^-1vs252.695 pg·mL^-1), and the difference has statistic significance(P<0.05).2. For BMP5 in the diagnosis of HCC, the sensitivity, specificity, youden's index, negative predictive value and positive predictive value were respectively 76%,42.86%,18.86%, 75% and 44.19%.3. For BMP6 in the diagnosis of HCC, the sensitivity, specificity, youden's index, negative predictive value and positive predictive value were respectively 78.60%, 90.20%, 68.80%, 88.46% and 81.48%.4. For AFP in the diagnosis of HCC, the sensitivity, specificity, youden's index, negative predictive value and positive predictive value were respectively 48%, 73.81%, 21.81%, 52.17% and70.45 %.5. The expression of BMP6 is closely correlated to that of AFP (P<0.05).Conclusion: BMP6 in serum has high value to the diagnosis of HCC. BMP5 in serum has certain value to the diagnosis of HCC.
