The Clinical Observation Of Chinese Herbal Compound In ET Patients And Measurement Of The Peripheral Blood Serum Level Of TPO

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of Jiangbanhuoxue formula in treatment of essential/primary thrombocytheemia (ET/PT), and to test platelet counts and the peripheral blood serum level of TPO before and after treatment of ET patients, with the aim to provide basis for the mechanism of Chinese herb and clinical treatment. Methods: 20 patients with ET were randomly divided into two groups. The TCM and Western medicine therapy group(10 cases) was treated with Jiangbanhuoxue formula and the hydroxyurea control group(10 cases) was treated with Hydroxyurea and Aspirin dissolved medicines for 3 months of therapy respectively. The clinical effect were observed during the course; platelet counts and the peripheral blood serum level of TPO were tested before and after the treatment. Results:The total effective rate of the TCM and Western medicine therapy group reaches 90.00%, can effectively reduce platelet count of ET patients,while that of the hydroxyurea control group reaches 80.00%, which shows no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). there is significant difference between both groups after treatment on traditional Chinese medicine symptoms(P<0.05),this is to say, The TCM and Western medicine therapy group is better than the hydroxyurea control group to improve the quality of life of patients.The onset time of clinical efficacy in both groups with significantly difference (P<0.05), and there is also very significant difference between both groups on onset time of clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms(P<0.01). Both groups can decrease the level of the blood platelets count effectively(P<0.01),and the decreasing effect of treatment group is the same with that of control group(P>0.05). The peripheral blood serum level of TPO decreases in both groups without significantly difference between the two groups(P>0.05),and there is no significant difference between both groups after treatment(P> 0.05). The TCM and Western medicine therapy group shows no significant correlation in the platelet count and peripheral blood serum level of TPO between before and after treatment (P> 0.05). and the hydroxyurea control group also shows no significant correlation (P> 0.05). Conclusion:Jiangbanhuoxue formula has affirmatory curative effect in the treatment of ET, with the ability of decreasing the platelet count effectively, and be effective in preventing the occurrence of clinical symptoms, such as hemorrhage and thrombosis, improve quality of life and prognosis,but the relationship between TPO and the occurrence and development of ET, has not been positive results, The concrete mechanism needs further reseach.
