The Acquisition And Research Of Human Acupuncture Potential

The acupuncture potential is one of the most important parameters of acupuncture electrical characteristics, research revealed that acupuncture points have elevated electrical potential compared to nonacupuncture points. As an passive detecting technology, acupuncture potential detecting has some advantages in reflecting the electrical properties of meridians and acupunctures, which is of vital importance for both theory and clinical application, and what's more, it is the most promising bridge between Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medical science. Within the acupuncture community,12 main meridians are associated with specific organs, while acupunctures are locations on skin surface that reflect internal disease. Therefore, we designed and implemented an acupuncture potential acquisition system based on fully analyzing the characteristics of acupuncture potential. Also, the system is used in experiments research of acupuncture electrical properties, which provide foundation for the relationship between the properties and disease.The main contents of this paper include:1) the introduction of acupuncture electrical properties and its measurement. The developing history, current situation, measuring method and influencing factors were summarized and introduced.2) the design and construction of an human potential acquisition system that consist of hardware design and software development. The hardware contains power module, multiplexer module, preamplifier module, shielding and right leg drive module, filter and post-amplifier module, etc, while the software is developed base on the platform of LabVIEW. At last, the system was tested by adding standard signal. The test results showed that it has great anti-interference performance so as to be able to meet application needs.3) the experimental study of meridians and acupuncture electrical characteristics. With the help of the acupuncture potential acquisition system,3 experiments were done to verify the hypothesis that acupuncture points have high potential, to compare and analyze the acupuncture potential of stroke patients with healthy people and propose an eigenvalue, and to discuss the changes of acupuncture potential while needling.The system which specially designed for skin potential acquisition and carefully considered the integration of signal, eliminated the electromagnetic interference to the weak potential signal, so the accuracy and stability of potential data were greatly improved. Furthermore, based on this acquisition platform, we can investigate the relationship between acupuncture electrical properties and disease, then build the mathematical model and knowledge base, and develop expert system used for diagnoses at last, which is definitely valuable for research and clinical application.
