Objective:1. We detected the expression of Wnt5a and P-catenin in gastric adenocarcinoma, and discussed the relationship between the expression of Wnt5a and the clinicopathological parameters of gastric adenocarcinoma as well as the relationship between the expression ofβ-catenin and the clinicopathological parameters of gastric adenocarcinoma.2. We discussed the correlation of the expression of Wnt5a and P-catenin in gastric adenocarcinoma. Methods:Envision immunohistochemical method was performed to detect the expression of Wnt5a and P-catenin in 50 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and 30 cases of normal stomach tissues. Then we used chi-square test and Spearman Correlation analysis to analyse the dates which was obtained from the immunohistochemical staining.Results:1.The positive expression rate of Wnt5a was 3.3%(1/30) in normal stomach tissues and 56%(28/50) in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues, and the positive rate in the latter was significantly hihger than that in nomral stomach tissues(p<0.01). In 50 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma tissues, the positive expression of Wnt5a had no relation with ages, sex and tumor grades(P>0.05), but the positive expression of Wnt5a in the group with serosa infiltration was significantly higher than that in the group without serosa infiltration(p<0.01), the positive expression of Wnt5a in the group of TNMⅢ-Ⅳstages was significantly higher than that in the group of TNMⅠ-Ⅱstages(p<0.01), the positive expression of Wnt5a in the group with lymph node metastasis was also significantly higher than that in the group without lymph node metastasis(p<0.01).2. The positive expression rate of P-catenin was 10%(3/30) in normal stomach tissues and 74%(37/50) in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues, and the positive rate in the latter was significantly higher than that in normal stomach tissues(p<0.01). In 50 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma tissues, the positive expression ofβ-catenin had no correlation with ages and sex(P>0.05), but the positive expression ofβ-catenin in the group of lower tumor grades was significantly higher than that in the group of higher tumor grades(p<0.01), the positive expression of P-catenin in the group with lymph node metastasis was also significantly higher than that in the group without lymph node metastasis(p<0.01), the positive expression ofβ-catenin in the group with serosa infiltration was higher than that in the group without serosa infiltration(p<0.05), the positive expression ofβ-catenin in the group of TNMⅢ-Ⅳ stages was also higher than that in the group of TNMⅠ-Ⅱstages(p<0.05).3. The expression of Wnt5a was negative correlated with (3-catenin in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues(r=-0.342, P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The positive expression of Wnt5a in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly higher than that in normal stomach tissues, and the high expression of Wnt5a was closely associated with infiltrated depth, advanced TNM stages, and lymph node metastasis.2. The positive expression of P-catenin in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues was also significantly higher than that in normal stomach tissues, and the high expression ofβ-catenin was closely associated with tumor grades, infiltrated depth, advanced TNM stages and lymph node metastasis.3. The expression of Wnt5a was negative correlated withβ-catenin in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues.
